The History Channel has decided to cancel the miniseries The Kennedys. The network issued a statement saying that "while the film is produced and acted with the highest quality, after viewing the final product in its totality, we have concluded this dramatic interpretation is not a fit for the History brand." The Hollywood Reporter claims that there is more to the story and that there was pressure from the Kennedy family to pull the plug on the project. Apparently Caroline Kennedy and Maria Shriver lobbied against the miniseries and were successful. If you recall, Katie Holmes filmed the role of first lady Jackie Kennedy and many believed this would be a big deal for her. It's now being rumored that Katie is very upset, as she was hoping this role would "revive her career." I actually doubt that she cares at all; she got to film the entire thing, which means she was allowed out of the house for a few months. It was like being ungrounded, and she lived it up while she could.
