FacebookSteven Slater, the Jet Blue flight attendant who dramatically left his job via the emergency slide with two beers in hand, reported to court today. He is no longer working for Jet Blue, although it's unclear if he quit or was fired. I'm going to go out on a limb and say that it doesn't matter; I doubt either party was too pumped up about working with the other. I think it's a huge loss for Jet Blue, because his recent antics almost made me want to fly commercial again...almost. His lawyers are reportedly coming up with a plea deal that will keep him out of jail. He may be required to enter some anger management and alcohol abuse classes in return for his freedom. They should just leave this guy alone. The only thing he did wrong was take the beer. As an openly gay man, he should not be promoting the consuming of such a fattening alcoholic beverage.
