Joan Rivers recently had a "controversial" statement in The Advocate. She said that she believes that young gay performers should stay in the closet. She explained by saying, "If you're going to be a romantic idol and try to get every teenage girl to love you, then you'd be an ass to come out and say you're gay." She went on to explain that Ricky Martin did it the right way, made his millions then came out later when it didn't matter anymore because he no longer needed to have 16-year-old girl fans. I'm not one to disagree with Joan Rivers or her face, but now I think somebody pulled her brain back a little too tight when they were moving her eyebrows to the top of her head. I'm pretty sure Ricky Martin had and still has plenty of teenage boy fans...probably not straight ones. See: Guy Branum. People who think they are in the closet usually are not, so you might as well come on out sooner than later. See: Sean Hayes.
