On the episode, the doctors met Devasha who was born five months premature and survived, which Dr. Dubrow called a "medical miracle."
After her birth, Devasha needed tubes put in her nose but when they were removed they caused her nostrils to be uneven.
So when the doctors met with Devasha, who is now 26, she explained that she wanted her nostrils to be symmetrical and hoped they can help fix them.
Take a look at the recap to see how the doctors helped Devasha and to find out what happened when the doctors met with Kendra who was born with pectus excavatum!
1. Devasha Used to Eat Lunch in the School Bathroom:
When Devasha started going to school, her classmates would start "teasing" her about her nostrils.
Devasha revealed, "It got to a point where I didn't want to be seen. So I would take my lunch and eat in the girls' bathroom stall."
As a result, Devasha used writing to express herself and used it as an outlet. But now she's ready for the doctors to help fix her nostrils!
2. The Doctors Examine Kendra's "Stressed" Breasts:
When the doctors met with Kendra she explained that she was born with pectus excavatum.
In order to try to hide what was happening with her chest, Kendra wanted larger breasts. But unfortunately for Kendra, her breast surgery was botched and now she's hoping the doctors can find a way to correct her "stressed" boobs.
Take a look at the video above to see what Dr. Dubrow tells Kendra about her chest!
3. Kendra's Surgery Is Split Into Two Parts:
Even though Kendra has pectus excavatum, a CAT Scan shows that it's not severe enough to require a medical procedure.
So in order to give Kendra the safest solution possible, Dr. Dubrow decides to split her surgery into two parts. In the first surgery, Dr. Dubrow removes Kendra's implants.
He explains, "In this first stage of Kendra's surgery, I'll make an incision on the bottom of her breasts and remove her implant, which will give the distressed tissue and skin some much needed time to recuperate and hopefully contract and prepare for the second stage of surgery."
4. Devasha Has Been Waiting Her Whole Life for Nose Surgery & It's Finally Here:
Devasha has spent the last 26 years wanting this nose surgery and the day is finally here!
For Devasha's surgery Dr. Nassif explains, "I'll start by opening up the nose and examining the natural cartilage along her left nostril and septum while my team harvests cartilage from her left ear. I'll then remove both the deviated bone and cartilage from her septum, opening up her airway as well as some of the skin and tissue from her right ala, laying the groundwork to shrink that nostril."
He continues, "Next I'll attach the septal extension graft to her tip cartilage, effectively lowering her tip and pulling down the entire right side of the nose. Finally to lower her nostril I'll add the composite graft to the rim of the right side of the other base, leaving Devasha with a more symmetrical nose."
5. Kendra Has "Healthy" Breasts After First Surgery:
A month after her first surgery, Kendra is back with "healthy" breasts and she's ready to have her second operation with Dr. Dubrow.
For this surgery Dr. Dubrow opens up Kendra's breast pockets and puts in "appropriately sized" implants and performs a lift in order to mask her chest wall where she has pectus excavatum.
6. Kendra Is Able to Wear the Wedding Dress Her Grandmother Bought Her:
Before her surgery, Kendra couldn't wear the wedding dress her grandmother bought her because it didn't really "fit" over her breasts. After her successful surgery with Dr. Dubrow however, Kendra feels "confident" and is able to put on the dress and looks amazing as she renews her vows with her husband.
7. Devasha Feels Like a "Brand New Me" After Surgery:
After recovering from her nose surgery, Devasha has "confidence" and is able to get up on stage and read her poetry, something she says she hasn't been able to do in "years" because she was "afraid."
Devasha says after surgery her nose looks "amazing" and feels like a "brand new me."
