On this Sunday's episode of Botched, a cancer survivor gets her wish granted, a man gets a breast implant lodged in his skull and we meet a woman whose face was destroyed by a horse.
The first person we met was personal trainer Mike, who has an eleven inch scar across the back of his head.
When he was 23, his hairline started to recede, so he went online and looked up surgeons in Beverly Hills, thinking he would find someone great. He found a doctor who specialized in hair restoration surgeries and promised to fix his hairline without a single scar.
However, on the morning of the surgery, the doctor moved his operation from Beverly Hills to Encino, and there was no anesthesiologist. All he remembers from the surgery is blood being everywhere.
During Mike's consultation, Dr. Paul Nassif and Dr. Terry Dubrow decide they can cut it out and close it, but that will cause a lot of tension. Or they can put a tissue expander filled with saline in his scalp to help stretch the skin, which will remove that tension.
The next patient we met was Michelle, who grew up in an extremely religious and strict family. The only thing she was really allowed to do was ride horses.
However, when she was 24, she was in a horseback riding accident and knocked unconscious. In a pool of blood, her right eye was sunken in and the right side of her face was paralyzed.
It took her two years and ten procedures to heal, and she feels she over compensated with surgery, including a cleft in her chin that she hoped would distract from her eye.
It's Mike's surgery day and he's feeling very anxious. This first surgery will consist of placing the implant in the back of his head, and filling it with saline.
Over the course of a week he will go into the office and get more saline injections and then after it has expanded enough, the doctors will remove the expander and lift his skin to fix the scar.
See his shocking surgery!
The final patient we meet is Cynthia, who is a breast cancer survivor. Her reconstruction surgery didn't go as planned.
In June of 2006, she found a lump in her left breast, and her doctor found two lumps.
On the morning of her mastectomy, the doctors told her that her left breast would look normal and identical to her right breast after surgery. However they didn't explain that she would no longer have a nipple.
They removed her left breast, and placed an expander inside to stretch the tissue. Over the course of a year, the doctor continued expanding her left breast until it was the size of her right. Then, she had reconstruction surgery.
The doctor decided to put implants in both breasts to make them look "symmetrical," but her left breast turned out flat. She was very unhappy with the results and the remaining scars, so she had a lotus tattoo placed on her breast to cover the scars.
Upon inspecting Cynthia's breasts, Dr. Dubrow thinks they should do work on both breasts, because there are problems with each side.
Mike's seven day check-in has arrived and his wounds look great, so the doctors decide to expand the tissue.
Dr. Dubrow is pretty happy with the results...
Then it's finally time for Michelle's consultation, and she explains how extremely unhappy she is with her chin and the right side of her face.
However, Dr. Nassif ultimately decides that she needs to feel better about herself, before going under the knife again. He explains, "She has to like herself." So she leaves without any procedures.
On the day of Cynthia's surgery, Dr. Dubrow devises a plan to make her breasts look more natural and more even. He also is going to look for any more potential breast cancer masses while he is operating.
Once in surgery, he finds out that the left breast's implant has completely ruptured. He believes that it has been ruptured for a long time, so he's very happy that he's finally getting it out.
See the graphic surgery for yourself!
Now it's Mike's surgery day and he's hoping everything just goes easily, and that it does!
Dr. Nassif explains, "It closed beautifully, without any tension."
On Cynthia's day one check-in, she is in tremendous pain because she refuses to take her pain medication, which causes her to become loopy.
So Dr. Dubrow writes her a prescription for something different...
Once all healed, she gets into a bikini and heads to the pool to show off her new body to her friends!
And her results are amazing!
For Mike, the healing process will take a bit longer, because his hair needs to grow back and the swelling needs to go significantly down, but he will hopefully get there!
