Body Dysmorphia is defined as "a body-image disorder characterized by persistent and intrusive preoccupations with an imagined or slight defect in one's appearance." In other words, when people with body dysmorphia look in the mirror, they don't see what everyone around them sees.
This is such a common disorder in society, even some of Hollywood's biggest stars have struggled with it. Lots of people have things they don't like about their bodies, but imagine seeing your photos in the media with negative and mean comments about your appearance!
Hayden Panettiere is one of many beautiful celebrities that has been open about her struggle with body dysmorphia. We think she said it best, "Beauty is an opinion, not a fact."
