But there was one little snag this morning...
She was shut out of the Golden Globes!
"She got so snubbed," her cousin, fellow funnylady Jenny McCarthy, told me today when she stopped by E! to promote her upcoming gig as cohost of Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve with Ryan Seacrest. "But she can still get an Oscar! Everyone is rooting for her."
That's certainly true.
"She was always hysterical growing up," Jenny's sister JoJo added about their cousin.
"Yeah, Missy's always been funny," Jenny said. "She was always like the 'artist' in the family. She even went goth once."
Speaking of the McCarthy clan, Jenny will head to Chicago to be with family in a few days before jetting off to NYC for New Year's.
"Even though I'm single, I'll say I won't kiss anyone at midnight," she said. "But I probably will."
Things didn't exactly work out with her and Dan Balanoff, the Chicago lawyer she was set up with during an appearance on Rosie O'Donnell's new talk show on OWN. "He was really nice and we had a nice dinner," Jenny said. "He wants to have dinner or something when I'm home for Christmas, but he's just too young. He's 31. I'm looking for my age, 39 up to like 49. That sounds good to me."
She's still in touch with the sports agent Paul Krepelka, the man she kissed last year at midnight in the middle of Times Squre.
"I spent New Year's on my couch for the last 15 years," she said. "I never wanted to go out because it just seemed like drunk people driving and just too rowdy, so I figured why not stay home and watch on television."
But then Dick Clark and Ryan Seacrest came calling. "If I am going to go out for New Years," she said, "I might as well get paid for it."
