Movie Screenings Marred by Violence

Columbia PicturesIn 1991, some screenings of the film depicting the struggles of growing up in South-Central Los Angeles erupted in violence. One victim was critically injured and 11 were wounded around three Southern California theaters. A Chicago man was also killed and many others suffered injuries in at least 25 additional violent attacks associated with screenings of the film.
