Looks like Katy Perry is using the Grammys to re-create her wedding. Happy Valentine's Day, Russell Brand! We guess? Between this ridiculous Armani Privé dress with Mother Plucker angel wings—seriously, angel wings?!—and the "Not Like the Movies" performance that included her never-before-seen wedding footage, Mrs. Brand is really going all out. We think it's great the singer and ex-bad boy comedian are totally and completely in love, but maybe next time they leave the rest of us out of it?
Can't deny it, we're pretty disappointed that Lady Gaga just threw up her hands and totally forfeited this Grammys red carpet. And for what?! If you're going to create some big production about your incubation and rebirth, you gotta have more to back it up than just a fun Madonna song. Otherwise, we're just going to roll our eyes and get thismuch closer to being so over it.
Um, where has Nicole Kidman been hiding this amazing Jean Paul Gaultier dress all red carpet season?! After two just-OK looks at the SAGs and Golden Globes where the night was all about her, she completely surprises us by rocking this stunning floral mermaid gown and gorgeous locks for her hubby's show. Suddenly, we're actually looking forward to her Oscars look!
OMG, has it really come to this? Rihanna has gone through so many iterations of the white gown by now, all that's left for the "Rude Boy" singer is to go nearly naked (in Jean-Paul Gaultier Couture). Ri-Ri, we know it's hard to keep topping yourself on the red carpet, but for the love of fashion, put on some clothes—nobody should be getting that intimate with your lady parts on the red carpet!
Joining Ri-Ri in tonight's vadge-flash club is...Jennifer Lopez, natch. The diva rocks some fab spiked Louboutins with the itty-bittiest silver Pucci disco-ball mini possible so nobody—we repeat, nobody—can miss out on the fabulosity of her gams or her girls. Hey, it's the Grammys, so we figured J.Lo would go over-the-top sexy. What we weren't expecting were those fried extensions. Girl's having a Bad. Hair. Day.
Nicki Minaj told Ryan Seacrest on the carpet she was feeling "fierce" in head-to-toe animal-print Givenchy tonight, but this spotted dress—with the Gaga-esque/Bride of Frankenstein wig—looks really tame to us. What's fun about Nicki is that she always pops in loud, awesome, bright colors, so these blah brown and black shades makes the funky fashionista look, well, like a leopard without its spots.
We adore Florence Welch's vintage style and love this Givenchy Couture dress. Or maybe that's just our Black Swan fever coming to the Grammys? Either way, it's the perfect gown that captures the Florence and the Machine singer's whole vibe without going over the top—it makes her look statuesque and even has a pop of color on the back. Overall, pretty perfect!
All right, Kim Kardashian, this is an intervention. We know you heart fellow bootylicious babe Jennifer Lopez, but you have to stop raiding her closet. Yes, this bronze Kaufman Franco gown looks awfully familiar to a previous Lopez red carpet outing, which concerns us. After all, the next phase of J.Lo addiction is the dreaded sexy face, and we really hope it doesn't go that far because we're family—we care about you!
When all the other big artists are trying to outcrazy each other on the red carpet, Jennifer Hudson stands out in a soft, flowy navy-blue Versace mullet dress with sparkly silver straps. J.Hud's sleek, straight hair matches her sleek new figure, too. Girl is looking better than ever, but it's just too bad those strappy black Louboutin platforms are a fail—they don't complement her dress and are too small. From the ankes up, though, gorgeous!
Well, it's nice to see Miley Cyrus again—we missed her while she was off filming movies. We only wish our reunion was a happier one. This Roberto Cavalli gown is just drab and ill-fitting. While Miles was talking to Ryan on the red carpet, it even looked like her side boob was about to make a run for it. Fortunately, she had all that hair—and it was actually brushed!—to protect against any wardrobe malfunctions.
After seeing Selena Gomez kill it at the Never Say Never premiere, it's a little disappointing to see her in this demure J. Mendel gown. Obviously she looks like a lovely young lady, and at least she's not falling out of it all over the place (ahem, Miley!), but we like when she does fun and youthful. And the Grammys is the best place to do fun and youthful, especially when you're the appropriate age for it!
Aw, poor Justin Bieber. Nobody told him it wasn't OK to come to the Grammys looking like a shabby Colonel Sanders in this baggy, off-white tuxedo with black bow-tie, hanky and spit-clean white sneakers (where were you, Selena?). And the teen superstar didn't take any awards home, either, so there's another bummer. On the bright side, though, everyone knows Justin's millions of Beliebers will heart him no matter what he wears.
