Charlie Sheen hasn't been seen since his Feb. 8 court date in Aspen (this pic's an oldie) but the actor's still making headlines—this time for checking into rehab as a "preventative measure," per his rep.
Sheen appeared in an Aspen court, where the actor was formally charged with three counts for his alleged Christmas Day knife-wielding attack on his wife.
Brooke Mueller was also on hand, appealing to have the protective order relaxed so that she and Sheen could reconcile. Domestic bliss didn't last long. She checked into a Malibu rehab center for substance-abuse treatment a day later.
"It was nice to have police come to my house and for once I didn't have to leave with them," cracked Sheen after discovering that his Mercedes had been stolen and ditched in a ravine in the Hollywood Hills.
Sheen managed to evade photographers for about two weeks after the assault—even as he visited his daughters at ex-wife Denise Richards' house and went to work on the set of Two And a Half Men—until this pic was snapped of the actor driving around Los Angeles.
Following the first and worst Christmas ever in their young lives, twins Max and Bob are taken for a walk by their nannies. A recent child services visit to Sheen's home to check on the kids was routine, according to Sheen's rep, who says they're being looked after by four caretakers.
And you thought your family was bad. Christmas Day drama led to the actor being jailed in Aspen, Colo., on domestic violence charges.
Sheen wed Mueller on May 30, 2008. It was his third marriage (and her first) but apparently no charm.
