Metallica and Lang Lang? Billie Joe Armstrong and Miranda Lambert? Keith Urban and Gary Clark Jr.? Dave Grohl and everyone? We like all these acts and lots of these performances, but not every one of these groupings needed to be on the bill of a show that ran more than three-and-a-half hours.

Pharrell Williams made some great music and won lots of awards, but he didn't always have something to say (which was not helped by having to speak for the French robots), but it's not too much to ask to either keep the speeches short and intersting.
Everyone—everyone—wanted to see Ringo Starr and Paul McCartney play together, which made the decision to have Ringo play with his own gigantic group (sans Macca) seem like a letdown before the two reunited later in the show.
