Meet The Cast
Denise
This season, it's all about fresh starts. Denise has kicked her baggage to the curb and is focusing on her career, getting in shape, getting out more with friends and "living life fearlessly" by taking risks and doing things she's always wanted to do, even if that means getting outside her comfort zone. Snowboarding and ballroom dancing, anyone?
Michelle
The Connection: Denise's younger sister. The two have been close their entire lives. A loving person, Michelle looks up to her big sister, but doesn't kowtow to her—she keeps her grounded.
The Complication: She represents the other path Denise could have chosen: settling down with a stable, nuclear family.
Irv
The Connection: Denise's dad. As a widower for some time now, Irv is finally getting out more; it's his New Year's resolution to be more social. He has started dating again, and he even tried speed dating. (Looks like the whole family's up for new challenges!)
The Complication: Happy though she is for Dad's new outlook on life, Denise is uncomfortable with him dating. Oh, and did we mention they're roommates? Combine those two little matters and, well, you see the problem.
Sami & Lola
The Connection: Denise's adorable little girls, ages 5 and 4
The Complication: Cute as buttons, fer sure, but two tiny tots are bound to present a challenge to any single mom.
Kim
The Connection: Denise's best friend for more than 20 years. She's been there for all the ups and downs in Denise's life.
The Complication: Though she feels Denise is too compassionate at times, Kim will always be there for her and will always be honest, no matter what.
Trish
The Connection: Another longtime friend of Denise. They feel they bond well because they're both Midwest girls. Trish is also married to Denise's chiropractor, Steve.
The Complication: Trish has always been Denise's rarin'-to-go, good-time pal, but now she's expecting a baby—just as Denise is spreading her wings and aiming to cut loose.
