Zolten and Bluebell Meet the World
Comedian-magician Penn Jillette sure is getting great at pulling names out of his? hat.
His 11-month-old daughter, Moxie CrimeFighter, got a partner to fight off school bullies with Monday when Jillette and his wife Emily welcomed their second child, a baby boy whom they have named Zolten Penn.
"Zolten is a common Hungarian name, it's my wife's maiden name and most importantly, it's the name of Dracula's dog," Jillette said in a statement.
And wasn't it the name of the carnival game that made Tom Hanks grow in Big?
Jillette, 51, left the daily radio show he hosts in Las Vegas on CBS' Free FM network Monday afternoon to join Emily, 40, at an area hospital. Zolten Penn weighed 8 pounds, 13 ounces, and has X-ray vision.
(All true, except that last part.)
Jillette and his silent smaller half Teller put on a nightly illusionist show at the Rio Hotel and are in production with the fourth season of their Showtime series, Penn & Teller: Bull@#$%!, sort of a MythBusters for the late-night set.
On the other side of the pond, Geri Halliwell announced that she has named her daughter, born May 14 in London, Bluebell Madonna.
The 33-year-old singer told the U.K.'s Hello! magazine that seeing spring flowers during her pregnancy inspired her. (Thank goodness for Bluebell her mother wasn't overly moved by the London Underground, the loo or cricket.)
"But what really clinched it for me was my mother telling me that the bluebell is increasingly rare--so it's [a] precious flower, which seems just right for my daughter," Halliwell said.
"As she came out of my tummy, Bluebell had both arms flung wide in the air as if announcing to the world, 'Hi! I'm here!' She was screaming her head off, as though she was shouting, 'Hello, Wembley!' No one else has that name, apart from the Virgin Madonna and the singer, whom I love."
Bluebell Madonna is also tailor-named to join a playgroup with Posh & Becks' little lass and lads, Brooklyn, Romeo and Cruz, and Phoenix Chi, Mel B's daughter with ex-hubby Jimmy Gulzar.
Other recent appellations include:
Grier Hammond: Brooke Shield's second ambiguously named daughter with husband Chris Henchy Ava Lorenn: Mark Paul Gosselaar's second child with wife Lisa Nana Kwadjo: Isaac Hayes' fourth son and first with wife Adjowa (in Ghanaian, Nana means "king," while Kwadjo means "boy born on Monday") Scarlett Teresa: Jack White's first child with wife Karen Elson Violet Maye: Dave Grohl's first child with wife Jordyn Moses: Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin's biblical edition to their fruit salad Suri: part Tom, part Kat
