Zack Morris Procreates
Commander in Chief's Mark-Paul Gosselaar has a new First Lady in his life.
The 32-year-old small-screen vet and his wife, Lisa, 34, welcomed daughter Ava Lorenn in Los Angeles Sunday, his publicist announced Monday. It's the couple's second child together.
The newborn was delivered around noon in an L.A.-area hospital, though none of the tyke's vital statistics have been released.
"Mother, daughter and family are all well," says Gosselaar's rep, Ame Van Iden.
It's the second child for the erstwhile Saved by the Bell prankster and his actress wife, who already have a two-year-old son, Michael Charles.
They met when she guest starred on an episode of his Bayside High spinoff series, Saved by the Bell: The College Years. While the show ended its two-year run in 1994, the camera-ready couple continued their courtship, eventually tying the knot in 1996.
Since graduating from his role as the dreamy Zack Morris, Gosselaar has opted for more serious fare, taking over for former child star Rick Schroeder in NYPD Blue and more recently starring in ABC's Geena Davis-led Oval Office drama, Commander in Chief.
Now it looks like Gosselaar will have plenty of time to tend to his new tyke.
For the second time this year, ABC has pulled the once promising freshman drama from its airwaves, and this time it looks like the show will be permanently recalled.
"Commander in Chief is over, as of two hours ago," series star Donald Sutherland told the UPI news service last week. While he did allow that the network's decision wasn't entirely final, he added, "Vut when I spoke to the people at ABC, they said, 'What is the word beyond miracle?' "
The three remaining episodes will likely make their way to ABC's airwaves next month, after the regular season, and all-important May sweeps, ends.
Commander in Chief's fate will be made official when the network announces its fall schedule on May 16.
