Just six months after plunking down $172,000 in cash for a home in Arizona, Bristol Palin is moving out.

The Dancing With the Stars alum plans on renting out the home, which sits 35-miles south of Phoenix in Maricopa, for $1,400 a month, her real estate agent confirms to E! News.

So why is Palin bailing on the place?

Palin needs to get out of Dodge for the new reality show she will be filming for the Bio Channel. The untitled series will focus on her making the move to Los Angeles, where she and son Tripp will cohabitate with brothers Kyle and Christopher Massey and work at a charity.

"Yes, it is for rent, but I have no further comment," Palin tells E! News.

The five-bedroom pad she purchased back in December went on the market this week, said Nate Martinez of RE/MAX Professionals. The two-story house is 3,900 square feet, with 2.5 baths, a kitchen with an island, a big backyard and a three-car garage.

"She was living in it, I don't know how long, I didn't sell it to her," Martinez tells E! News. "When I listed the home it was already vacated."

Martinez added that he believes Palin may have purchased the home as an investment property and that she never mentioned selling it.

Separately, mom Sarah just bought a house in the Grand Canyon State last month.
