Yikes! Are all those death threats against Paula Abdul over a recent X Factor elimination starting to hit too close to home?

As in her actual home?!

The Van Nuys Police Department confirms to E! News that police went to the judge's residence after receiving a call early Friday morning from a private security company that monitors the neighborhood.

So what went down?

Well, it seems that while an alarm did go off at Abdul's Sherman Oaks, Calif., pad, the police assure us that there was no break-in or burglary there and it's possible the alarm was simply not activated properly.

A rep for Abdul tells E! News: "Everything's fine. Paula's okay and was not at home. Nothing was touched in the house."
