Which American Idol Winner Is Blasting Pia Toscano Elimination?

Pia Toscano shouldn't worry too much about having been eliminated from American Idol.

Sure, it sucks to get the boot, but...

"Hopefully, it galvanizes Pia's fanbase," season seven winner David Cook told me at last night's Scream 4 premiere. "I think she's so talented. I think the sky's the limit for her. She has the opportunity to seize it right now."

Even so, Cook blasted Toscano's elimination as "shocking."

"I don't think it was the right move," he said.

Advice for the aspiring singer? "Get whatever sleep you can whenever you could get it," Cook said. "I'm still—three years later!—catching up on sleep."

Cook is set to perform his new single, "The Last Goodbye," next week on Idol. His new album drops in June.
