What Christina Wants: Marriage

Christina Aguilera is ready to be stripped of her single-girl status.

The "Beautiful" singer accepted a proposal from her longtime boyfriend, music executive Jordan Bratman, on Friday, her rep confirmed today.

The couple was vacationing when Bratman popped the question, presenting Aguilera with a diamond ring designed by jeweler Stephen Webster, the rep said.

No wedding date has been set.

Aguilera, 23, and Bratman, 26, began dating two years ago. A friend of the singer told People magazine that Aguilera "was very surprised. She's ecstatic."

Bratman is one of the higher-ups at the Soundproof music agency, along with Aguilera's manager, Irving Azoff. He previously served as producer Dallas Austin's manager and as head of A&R for Atlanta-based DARP Music Inc. He also worked as a soundtrack consultant for Universal Pictures.

Aguilera, a Mouseketeer turned pop diva, has earned considerable raves for her vocal chops over the past several years, chalking up a Best New Artist Grammy in 1999, a Best Pop Collaboration with Vocals Grammy in 2002 for "Lady Marmalade" and the Best Female Pop Vocal Performance Grammy for "Beautiful" in 2004.

Last spring, Aguilera was forced to cancel her summer tour on the advice of her doctors after she strained her vocal cords in the studio.

The singer is currently working on a new album, expected out later this year.
