Weezer Back in Action After Accident

Weezer is returning to the road.

After their tour came undone in the wake of last month's scary bus accident, the alt-rockers are set to return to the stage tonight at Florida State University now that frontman Rivers Cuomo is back in fighting form.

"Doctor says my lung is all healed—cleared to fly to Florida for the show," tweeted the 40-year-old "Beverly Hills" singer-guitarist.

Cuomo suffered five broken ribs, a ruptured spleen and a punctured lung after his tour bus hit a patch of black ice and slipped into a muddy ravine Dec. 6 as he, wife Kyoko and their 2-year-old daughter were headed from Toronto to a gig in Boston. Firefighters needed the jaws of life to pry him out.

The banged-up rocker spent the past six weeks recuperating and catching up on a number of songwriting projects, including penning a tune for the soundtrack to Shrek: The Final Chapter.

Cuomo's assistant, Sarah Kim, also sustained injuries in the crash but is said to be "on track for a full recovery," according to a statement on the band's website.

"Rivers' recovery has gone well so far, and he is feeling up to rock and roll once again—not ready to fly through the air, but ready to play and sing at least," the post states.

Tonight's Tallahassee show is the only one scheduled until the May 2 Bamboozle Festival in East Rutherford, N.J.

However, Weezer has promised to make up all winter tour dates canceled after the accident.
