Which Teen Mom Star Is the Best Mother?

How the time flies. One minute, you're crafting a Mother's Day card from safety scissors and construction paper in homeroom; the next, you're a mom yourself.

But the stars of MTV's Teen Mom series were still in homeroom when they got pregnant. Most (but not all—we're looking at you, Amber and Chelsea) have graduated high school—but are they passing the parenthood test?

Amber Portwood: Leah's mom was just ordered to stand trial for felony neglect of a dependent and domestic battery (for her on-camera beatdown of baby daddy Gary Shirley in front of their 2-year-old daughter), so we don't expect her to be receiving any Mother of the Year trophies anytime soon.

Catelynn Lowell: She gave up her baby for adoption, but Catelynn and her boyfriend/stepbrother (who are we to judge?) Tyler Baltierra are still involved in daughter Carly's life thanks to their special relationship with adoptive parents Brandon and Teresa.

Chelsea Houska: Chelsea's devoted dad provides for his daughter and granddaughter Aubree's every need, but maybe it's about time Chelsea started acting like a grown-up, got her GED and paid her own rent.

Farrah Abraham: Little Sophia's daddy never had a chance to meet his daughter—Farrah's ex died before she was born. Despite her struggles—most famously with her own mom, who was arrested after a violent argument between the two—Farrah tries. So. Hard.  

Jenelle Evans: Amber's heir to the Teen Mom trainwreck throne signed over custody of her son, Jace, to her own mom, Barbara. The courthouse darling, now on probation, faces additional charges of assault in a videotaped brawl, but several other charges in a separate trespassing incident were recently dismissed.

Kailyn Lowry: By working two jobs while going to college—while sharing custody of son with her ex, Jo—Kailyn is ensuring a bright future ahead for little Isaac.

Leah Messer: Although she recently split from baby daddy Corey Simms, Leah is devoted to twin girls Aliannah, who has a developmental disorder, and Aleeah.

Maci Bookout: Always assured and independent, Maci demonstrated even more maturity when she agreed to share custody of baby Bentley when absentee dad Ryan finally showed up to the parenting party.
