The winner of E! Online's Top TV Couples Tournament is the possibly inappropriate but most certainly sexy twosome of shady ex-lawyer Jeff Winger (Joel McHale) and good girl Annie Edison (Alison Brie) on NBC's Community! The results of the final round were quite close—just 3,000 votes separated the two couples—so kudos as well to the House fans for putting in such a strong second-place showing!

House-Cuddy, House: 49.5%
Jeff-Annie, Community:  50.5%

Community show runner Dan Harmon tells us exclusively about Jeff and Annie's future, "Thank you, fans! Your expression of support for such a controversial pairing paves the way for a season three romance between Chevy Chase and a living, human woman." (Eek. See what you guys did?!)

On a related and hilarious note, Joel McHale just emailed us a note saluting you fans, saying, "It's so great for Community's Annie and Jeff to win E! Online's poll for best couple. The fans for the show are incredible, and I thank you. I hate to point this out but Jeff and Annie are not a couple."

Are Jeff-Annie fans called Jannie fans? If so...Jannies, do a happy dance in the comments, because you rule! And if you're not yet familiar with the charms of Community, start watching, willya? It airs Thursdays at 8 p.m. on NBC, and it is brilliant.

WATCH NOW: We love Joel McHale, too! Didja know he's the host of The Soup every Friday night at 10 p.m. right here on E!?
