• Grey's Anatomy's newest cool guest casting is actor/all-around badass Martha Plimpton. Look for her first in the season premiere, with her "patient's mom" arc continuing for multiple episodes. (Mitch Pileggi also guests in the premiere as a hospital administrator.)
• Jennifer Garner signed a development deal with ABC, although at the moment it won't actually bring her back onscreen. She's becoming a behind-the-scenes power player like her man Ben Affleck.
• Eliza Coupe, who played insensitive intern Denise last season on Scrubs, has officially joined the reworked series for season nine. Denise is set to be chief resident at the medical school.
• Who else loves Ice Cube? TBS just picked up a Cube-produced sitcom called Are We There Yet? starring Terry Crews of the late, lamented Everybody Hates Chris. Cube will guest star now and again.
