Smell that? That's the scent of plotlines being twisted for season finales!

And no one does cliffhangers, twists, turns and character deaths quite like The Vampire Diaries. We've got some insight on what's going down during the season-three finale, plus info on Schmidt and Cece on New Girl. All that, and scoop on The Mentalist, Supernatural and more in today's Spoiler Chat...

GG129: Ian Somerhalder tweeted that the finale of The Vampire Diaries is called "The Departed." Any hints as to why?
"The Departed" makes reference to those Elena has lost in her life. Remember how we told you they're going to flash back to the night Elena's parents died in the car crash? We feel a weeptastic episode coming on. (Shudder.)

Bridgette: Is Matt Davis (Alaric) on through the end of the season of The Vampire Diaries or not because of filming The Cult?
According to a source on the show, Matt Davis is currently juggling pilot duties (yes, he was cast in The Cult) and TVD duties. Fancy! And so we shouldn't assume Alaric is a goner...at least not yet.

And speaking of TVD, Kat Graham's first music video premieres on E! News today! We'll also be showing it online at 8:00 PM ET / 5:00 PM PST.

Tia in Chicago: So excited that Dermot Mulroney is on New Girl again next week! What can you spill about the episode?
Once again, Liz Meriwether has created 22 minutes of sheer-perfection. In tomorrow's "FancyMan II", you will learn many new and wonderous things. Here are three just to get you excited: First, 1989 was the year that Jess learned to use the toaster all by herself. Second, someone's ta-tas are referred to as "Harold" and "Kumar." And finally, one of the roomies discovers that Schmidt and Cece have been getting "twirly" and in a very adventurous location. That's right, the secret's out ya'll!

Dilys: I am so excited to have Cas back on Supernatural. Thank goodness he's back. Now can we keep him for season 8?
If it's up to Misha Collins then yes, yes you can definitely keep him for a season eight. "I would love to see Cas come back," he tells us. "It's been such a fun show to work on and such a fun character and such a fun fandom to be immersed in. All and all, if there is some way to work out for Cas to come back that'd be great."

Elissa: Scoop about the most handsome man on TV: Patrick Jane! #thementalist
Whoa, that is a bold statement! Not that we'd kick him out of bed…but the most handsome? We prefer the likes of Jim Halpert, but to each their own. Anyway, Jane (Simon Baker) might be getting a new love interest, and this one will be sticking around. Is she a smart and sexy scientist? A badass detective? No, she's a Vegas cocktail waitress. But don't sell her short…there's more to her than meets the eye, which is why Jane will be drawn to her.

Jackie: Loved the interview with Maggie Q! Can I possibly get more Nikita scoop? PLEASE!
Since you typed in all caps, we can't say no. It's a Spoiler Chat rule. In the season (hopefully not series) finale of Nikita, Division gets totally tattled on by someone from the inside, and the person who's listening to the nark is very high up on the government food chain. Like, the very top of it.

Brock: Anything on Grimm?
You think you're having a bad day? Check out this guy we'll be meeting on an upcoming Grimm: He's stuck morphed between his human self and his creature self, and he's well on his way to a mental breakdown. Yikes.

Nicholas: Two and a Half Men wasn't on CBS' early renewal list….give me scoop so I don't panic.
Not to scare you more or anything, but Two and a Half Men is looking for someone to play an Army Recruiter. Now, why would they want to send someone off to the army? Isn't that kind of like saying…goodbye?! Ah, but we're just speculating, so what do we know?

buffy2405: Anything on Silver/Liam/Navid love triangle on 90210?
Well, can it actually be called a love triangle at this point? That's debatable, so when we caught up with Matt Lanter, we asked if there's a chance that Liam and Silver are heading down hook up road. "We might. I don't know if it's a permanent thing or not," he teases. "We're actually still waiting to find out. The end of the season kind of leaves a lot of questions to be answered and that's one of them. We'll see!"
