Cue up another whole year of too-tight V-necks for Simon Cowell!

Fox has renewed The X Factor for a second season, nodding to the show's solid ratings and claiming it is the "No 1. reality show on broadcast television this fall."

Is that true?

While the ratings had slipped a bit since its premiere, X Factor's ratings jumped back up again with last week's first live performance show.

According to Fox, X Factor is outperforming returning hits like Survivor (by 27 percent), Dancing With the Stars (by 38 percent), Amazing Race (by 47 percent) and The Biggest Loser (by 104 percent). It's also one of the top three new fall shows with more than 13 million viewers.

"I am absolutely thrilled with the news," Cowell says via news release of the season two pick-up. "I have loved making the show and I want to thank Fox, our sponsors and most importantly, the fans for supporting The X Factor."

Tonight marks the second live performance show, and we'll be there, live, to catch all the action. Anything you are dying to know, tweet me @kristindsantos, and check back right here for our exclusive, behind-the-scenes report!
