It's the most wonderful time of the year: pilot season!

We like to think of pilot season as TV's version of the NFL trade, where actors' fans anxiously await news of their favorite star being cast in a new project hoping to hit airwaves in the fall. In recent casting news, Smallville's Kristin Kreuk landed a "beauty" of a role, while Katie Cassidy found a super part in a comic-book adaptation that's sure to show off her skills. Plus, Lost's Terry O'Quinn just signed on for a very devilish role.

So what other actors have landed new projects and who are they playing? Here's everything you need to know...

The Girls of the CW: Kreuk, she who played Clark Kent's (Tom Welling) first love Lana Lane on Smallville, is heading back to the network that made her famous: the CW. She's set to fill Linda Hamilton's shoes and take the lead female role in the network's Beauty and the Beast, a reboot of CBS' series from the '80s. Life Unexpected's Austin Basis has also signed on to the project.

As for Cassidy, who was pretty much the only good thing in CW's Melrose Place reboot, she has been cast in Greg Berlanti's Arrow, a drama pilot based on the DC Comics character Green Arrow. The Gossip Girl star will play Dinah "Laurel" Lance, an attorney who shares a complicated romantic past with Oliver Queen/Green Arrow (Stephen Amell). Fans of the comic-book series know Laurel eventually becomes Black Canary, so well done, Cassidy! Another Gossip Girl alum has also joined Arrow: Willa Holland, also known for The O.C., will play Oliver's younger sister.

So Long, Tree Hill! Sophia Bush is ready to say goodbye to Brooke Davis, the beloved character she played for nine seasons on the CW's One Tree Hill. Bush has joined CBS' comedy pilot Partners, which centers on the friendship of two architects. The OTH star will play the girlfriend of one of the architects. Also joining Partners is Ugly Betty vet Michael Urie, who will play one of the lead architects Louis.

ABC/Bob D'Amico

Don't Tell Him What He Can't Do! O'Quinn, aka Lost fan favorite John Locke, has joined ABC's buzzed-about drama pilot 666 Park Avenue, which is based on novels by Gabriella Pierce. O'Quinn will take on the role of a mysterious owner of a historic Manhattan apartment building, which a young couple moves into and soon experience strange occurrences. The sitch? The other residents have made deals with the devil. Can you say awesome?!

Heroes Move On: Ali Larter will play a CIA agent living a double life as a photojournalist in Fox's spy drama The Asset, while Dania Ramirez has landed a role on Marc Cherry's new show for ABC titled Devious Maids, where she'll play a housekeeper for two actors and is also a single mother.

Dick Casablancas 4eva! Veronica Mars star Ryan Hansen has been cast in Fox's comedy pilot El Jefe, which comes from the creators of Aliens in America. Hansen will play a dude who is forced to move in with his cleaning woman's family after he's kicked out of his dad and stepmom's house. Harsh!
