Paul Rudd is heading back to NBC for another one of our all-time favorite comedies. You didn't forget he married Phoebe Buffay on Friends, right? OK, just checking.

Vulture is reporti ng that Rudd will be popping up on Parks and Recreation to play a very important role in the second half of the season. It's going to be a match made in comedy heaven because...

…Rudd will be playing Leslie Knope's (Amy Poehler) political rival as the race for city council heats up!

We've been waiting for news on just who will be Knope's political foe, and we could not love this casting more. An insider tells Vulture that Rudd filmed his scenes in late December, and it's possible he'll be doing more than one episode. Well, we certainly hope so.

Also cast for a multi-episode arc is former Free Agent (RIP) star Kathryn Hahn. She'll be part of Rudd's political team going up against Leslie. TVLine.com first reported the casting.

NBC has yet to comment on Rudd's role (NBC and E! are both part of the NBC Universal family).

P.Rex fans, do you love this pairing or what?
