New Girl Casting Scoop: A Party Down Star Is Coming!

Party Down's Lizzy Caplan comes to New Girl tonight, and we have a sneak peek for ya!
Sources also confirm to us exclusively that yet another Party Down star has just been cast, playing a friend of Nick's (Jake Johnson).
So wait a minute. Is Max Greenfield (Schmidt) finally getting his dream love interest in Kristen Bell? You know she starred on Party Down, too, right?

No, it's actually Martin Starr, whom Party Down fans loved as Adam Scott's ridiculously awkward sidekick, Roman. He's playing Dirk, a friend from Nick's law school days who's going through a rough patch as he just broke off his engagement to his longtime girlfriend. Cue the Dirty Dancing screenings on repeat!
We also did just talk to Kristen Bell about the possibility of coming to New Girl (after Max Greenfield begged for it to happen) and it turns out, she's a fan! "Sure!" she says when asked if she'll come on the show. "It's very flattering. I mean I'd have to check with Showtime, because there are contractual issues but I would definitely do it... I think Max is one of the most charming people I have ever met!"
Kristen currently stars on Showtime's House of Lies with Don Cheadle.
Starr's episode will air sometime in March, and Dermot Mulroney also appears in the episode.
