Can't you just feel the chemistry oozing off the page? In this first look at the season seven premiere of How I Met Your Mother, Barney (Neil Patrick Harris) and Robin (Cobie Smulders) share a sizzling moment on the dance floor at Punchy's wedding. They look disheveled, like they've been dirty dancing for awhile. And it may be the optimistic leprechaun that lives inside us, but doesn't it look like they're headed for a kiss?
When we hit the set for the season-six finale and chatted with Smulders, she dropped some hints that things weren't really over for those two, despite the presence of Nora (Nazanin Boniadi)...
"Barney and Robin have sort of been going back and forth with the idea of potentially getting back together or just playfully talking about it," she told us back in May. "As with life, when you're in a relationship with someone and it doesn't work out, and you figure it's just not the right time, or if that's the issue, then the right time comes up for one of you and you just wish that it was you."
Well, we know that Barney is suited up for a wedding in the near future, and Nora is back in the picture. But c'mon! This photo is all the proof you need that Barney and Robin are supposed to be together. "I think that going through the relationships that she had with Ted (Josh Radnor) and with Barney, she's grown a lot," Smulders said. "Now she's settling into a job she really likes and is respected for. I feel now she wants to be fulfilled just completely."
We're pretty sure Barney is up to the task of making sure Robin is "fulfilled just completely." Sorry, that was gross.
