HBO's Sunday Night Shock-a-Thon: Are You Loving or Hating It?

Porn stars. Head twisting. Gang rape. Head bashing. Anal sex. And the cutest engagement photo ever!

It's the raging debate of the moment among TV fans:

Have HBO's Sunday night fan favorites Entourage and True Blood gone too far this season?

Check out E! News' look at all the True Blood shockers lately in the video above—as well as some behind-the-scenes scoop on how that Rolling Stone cover came about. (Hint: It wasn't planned.)

Most fans will agree that the current third season of True Blood has been better than ever creatively, what with all the crazy plot twists and amazing mini-cliffhangers that keep everyone guessing. (What is Sookie?! Can Bill be trusted?) It is some truly amazing television! But some of it has been just plain nasssstaaay...right? Tara's disturbing sex with Franklin, Bill and Lorena's twisted sex, Bill sucking Sookie dry, Tara bashing in Franklin's head, Sookie and Bill's porn-like makeup sex, Russell picking up Talbot's remains. Just...ick.

Personally, I'm loving this season of True Blood—don't you dare take it away fro me!—but the gore factor is kinda killing the fantasy aspect: I like my Anna, Stephen and Alex hot and steamy and scandalous and dangerous—but not covered in what looks like spaghetti squash, V8 and goo.

As many of you fans have also pointed out, Entourage is getting in on the game with a marked difference in sexual shockers this season—perhaps to keep up with those nutty fang-bangers? Eric's bedroom scene with Sloan, pubic-hair debates, Vince's new porn-star girlfriend...The list goes on.

And wait a minute. Why am I even reminding you of any of these things? Seriously, if you've seen them, how could you possibly forget?

Hmmm...Perhaps that's the point? All this envelope pushing just makes us talk about and think about these shows all the more? And here I am joining the rest of the world talking about it.

Touché, HBO. Looks like you win again!
