Dearest Dr. Isobel "Izzie" Stevens:
We've given it some thought, and here's the deal with your terminal cancer and seemingly impending death on Grey's Anatomy:
It's not OK. You've got to live!
You cannot leave us alone with the dark and twisty twins (Mer and Cristina), you cannot break Alex's heart after making us wait five years for you to be together, and most of all, you've got to continue to be our torch of hope. On a show that is largely about melancholia and the self-inflicted misery of the human condition, you, Izzie Stevens, have always been the butterscotch pudding of happiness and sympathy. You're beautiful, warm, kind and comforting. We like you.
Sure, there's lots of fanland drama about Gizzie and Denny and whether or not you whine too much, but bottom line, you are an essential part of the series. We can't lose you. An Izzie-less Grey's would be a sadder and less lovable show.
So, there you have it, Iz: You've got to live, and you've got to stay on the show. Kick that 5 percent chance in the butt, will ya?
