Call the Maternity Ward! Grey's Anatomy's Sarah Drew Is Pregnant!

Sarah Drew, Grey's Anatomy ABC/ERIC MCCANDLESS

Somebody's TV character might have some serious explaining to do next season. Or might be shooting a lot of scenes with big plants blocking their stomachs. Or might not be shooting at all.

Do you see all the implications when a TV star gets pregnant?

E! has confirmed that Sarah Drew, who plays Dr. April Kepner on Grey's Anatomy, is expecting her first child with husband Peter Lanfer.

Of course, Grey's fans know what the problem will be with writing the real-life pregnancy into the show…

April is a virgin!

So either the character got busy over the summer, or the character is about to get busy. Which would be par for course on that show.

Or something else entirely. Who knows?

Thus far, the only thing Grey's producers have to say to us regarding Drew's condition is they have "not determined" if her character will also be pregnant on the show. April always made a big deal about saving herself for someone she truly loves, so maybe we'll meet this special person next season?

Regardless of what this means for Drew's Grey's character, congratulations are in order for the real-life parents-to-be!
