Breaking! Betty/Heroes Honey Joins Pushing Daisies

Hey, party people! Just a little delish Pushing Daisies casting scoop to get you through the long weekend.
A reliable source tells me today that Jayma Mays, who played Hiro's ill-fated squeeze on Heroes and Henry's seemingly MIA baby mama on Ugly Betty, is doing a very cool guest spot on the best new show of the season, Pushing Daisies.
As if we needed a reason to love this show any more!
I'm told she's playing Elsita, a woman who leads a life of windmillery (she lives and works in a windmill) in the fourth episode, and she's fantastic.
So, why do I say "seemingly MIA" when it comes to Betty? Well, based on what I know about production scheduling, timing and so forth, Jayma would likely not be free to do Daisies if she were busy at work on Betty. Think I'm right? Off my rocker? Feel free to comment below.
Clearly, Jayma made quite a good impression on PD boss (and former Heroes producer) Bryan Fuller before Sylar offed her. And though her role sounds whimsically bizarro, you'll see when Pushing Daisies finally airs (Oct. 3) that that's the best part about it. It is unlike anything you've seen.
