He's back! Wheeee!

Seems like Jake (Chris Zylka) couldn't stay away from Cassie (Britt Robertson) and the rest of the coven on The Secret Circle for long—he returned after one episode. And while a lot of fans are rooting for Jake and Cassie to get together, that whole trying to kill her and secretly being a witch hunter thing is a pretty big hurdle to overcome. And then there's Adam (Thomas Dekker) waiting in the wings.

So how will Cassie react to Jake's reappearance in Chance Harbor? And what will cause Cassie to "lose her mind"? Here's what Robertson tell us...

"Obviously, Jake and Cassie didn't leave it in the best of terms, but at this point, when he does come back, she's going to be a little hesitant as to trust him," Robertson says of Cassie's reaction to Jake's return. "He lied to her the entire time, he was part of the witch hunters and then he left with them. Why would she give her trust to him? I think that's a really big part of why their little fling won't go any further at this point. But you know, maybe he'll be able to make it up to her as most men do."

A little tease Robertson gave us? Jake and Cassie's relationship will be extremely relevant in the upcoming flashback episode. "It'll be really interesting. You'll get to find out a lot of secrets and mysteries," she says. "It's a Jake and Cassie journey and they go on it together. They learn more about each other and they learn more about where they come from and who Cassie is. The big mysteries of the show are tested and some are revealed."

Still, a large faction of the fans are rooting for Adam and Cassie to finally act on their mutual attraction—and he'll make his move in tonight's episode. "That relationship is something that has been put on the back burner because of the whole Diana-Adam situation, and Cassie and Diana have become so close," Robertson tell us. "Now that they've broken up and it's been a while and Diana's moving on, I think that it's a relationship that will continue to flourish. We'll get to know each other a little bit better outside of the witchy stuff and really hone in on who they are as people and if they get along and if they want to be together."

Standing in the way of Adam and Cassie' happily-ever-after is Cassie's strong bond with Diana, the bond Robertson feels is most important to her character. "Their friendship is the foundation of Cassie's stability at this point. Diana is the only one she can really hang on to; it's her family right now and she's living there," she says. "She relies on Diana so much and if that friendship were to be tested, I think Cassie would lose her mind. But that's for when the Adam-Cassie thing becomes more relevant I think."

While Cassie hasn't lost her mind yet, she is going darker, a lot darker, thanks to the Balcoin bloodline. Robertson says playing the darker side of Cassie is "fun," but thinks "less is more" when it comes to the evil. "No one wants to see their lead character go completely bad and just start killing everyone, but at the same time, I think it's really cool to play with that side of her."

Our favorite moment of the series so far had to be Cassie causing the coffin to explode after being buried alive. Yes, our little blonde witch is a total badass."It was really cool. We had an actual coffin," Robertson says. "Going into the episode, they were like, 'I hope you're not going to get claustrophobic!' I was like, 'Yeah, we'll see!' But it was really fun." So did Robertson feel like a badass while filming the scene? "Kind of. I was like, 'All right, I can do this. This is pretty fun!'"

So between making coffins explode with her mind and Darth Vader death-gripping Adam's neck, how much darker will Cassie go throughout the rest of the season? "I don't know, can you get much darker than that? It's possible and we'll go there. Don't you worry."

The Secret Circle airs tonight at 9 p.m. on the CW.
