24: Jack Bauer Becomes a New Yorker

In season eight of 24, Jack Bauer (Kiefer Sutherland) becomes a New Yorker!
No, Jack's not turning into Eustace Tilley or anything (can you imagine?), but 24 is heading to NYC next season.
E! News confirms from sources at Fox that "24 will be set in New York next season."
But, unlike Ugly Betty, which picked up sticks and moved the entire production to the Big Apple, the 24 production is only taking an occasional excursion to the new city, the same way True Blood shoots in Los Angeles but visits Louisiana to shoot on location once or twice a season (or how ER sometimes visited Chicago for Lake Michigan shots). According to Fox, 24 "may travel to New York from time to time for some limited filming, but the production will continue to call L.A. its home."
As previously reported, Anil Kapoor recurs in season eight as a high-powered Middle Eastern diplomat.
