UPDATE 10:00 a.m.: Murray has received the maximum allowable sentence, four years in state prison. However, due to a new California law, he will instead serve his time (likely, just a portion of it) in Los Angeles County Jail.

Judgment day has arrived for Dr. Conrad Murray.

The disgraced physician, found guilty this month of involuntary manslaughter in the 2009 death of Michael Jackson, is due to be sentenced Tuesday in Los Angeles Superior Court after spending the last three weeks behind bars.

Judge Michael Pastor, who presided over the six-week trial, has the prerogative to punish with Murray with anything ranging from probation to four years in state prison. Of course, because the state in this case is California, Murray will most likely be relegated to L.A. County Jail, which is seemingly too crowded to hold any nonviolent offender for 24 hours, let alone 1,460 days.

A number of Jackson family members are expected to be in court today.
