Watch Christian Bale Get Into His Oscar-Winning Fighter Form
Anybody who has seen The Fighter would agree that Christian Bale rightfully deserved that Oscar he received last month for Best Supporting Actor. But it's not just moviegoers and Academy members who were amazed by his performance as Mark Wahlberg's character's troubled older brother, Dicky Eklund.
In this exclusive look at a clip from the featurette on the film's upcoming Blu-ray/DVD release (Tuesday), it's the onetime boxer's actual family members—and even Dicky himself—who were in awe of Bale's ability to channel him so effectively. Sure enough, when you see the two men working alongside each other, the similarities are pretty scary.
"I think he plays Dicky better than Dicky," says the real-life Dicky. "If that's possible."
Possible indeed.
