"View" Host Elisabeth Delivers
Elisabeth Hasselbeck is viewing the joys of motherhood.
The View cohost and her husband, Washington Redskins quarterback Tim Hasselbeck, welcomed their first child, a baby girl, on Wednesday morning.
A still-hospitalized Hasselbeck called into Thursday morning's episode of The View to reveal the baby's name: Grace Elisabeth.
Admitting she was "pretty beat up" from the birth, the petite Survivor: The Australian Outback alum nonetheless professed her daughter, "the cutest thing ever...but I'm biased."
The baby weighed in at seven pounds, eight ounces and shares her birthday with her father.
"Both Elisabeth and I are extremely excited and we're so happy that everyone is healthy," Tim Hasselbeck said in a statement.
The gabber will be absent from The View for about six weeks' maternity leave while temporary hosts take her place in the meantime. Teen starlet Hilary Duff was manning the empty seat this week.
Hasselbeck's View cronies Star Jones Reynolds and Meredith Viera guessed incorrectly that the baby would be a boy. They now owe $100 each to fellow cohost Joy Behar and show producer Bill Geddie, who both guessed right.
Hasselbeck, who enjoyed minor celebrity as the pigtailed cutie in the second season of Survivor, joined the klatchfest in November 2003 following an exhaustive tryout process. She also serves as host of the Style Network's The Look For Less. (Style and E! Online are both part of E! Networks.)
In other celebrity baby news, funnyman Greg Kinnear is expecting his second child with wife, Helen, E! has confirmed.
The couple, who married in 1999, already have a 1-year-old daughter, Lily Katherine.
