It's not exactly a mystery for the ages: You stick a photo of a woman breastfeeding her 3-year-old child on the cover of a major magazine, there's going to be some national chatter about it. And, for better or worse, it's probably not going to be good.

Obviously, the fashion press has it all wrong. Anna Wintour isn't cold, she just hadn't met the right interviewer to warm up that concrete exterior. That is, until she sat down on the Colbert Report last night.

And what started as one of the odder pairings in prime time (or anywhere) soon became a rambling, wide-ranging conversation that saw the two powerhouses face off on everything from gay marriage to Stephen Colbert's (apparent lack of) fashion sense to what Wintour really thought of The Devil Wears Prada...all ending, as is only fitting, with an agreement to go bobbing for french fries at Long John Silver's.

The subject of his scorn was none other than fellow pundit Rush Limbaugh, who earlier this week went on the attack against the CNN anchor, accusing him of spending more time in the gym than the studio.

Turns out, Cooper gives as good as he gets.
