Victoria Principal Back on the Market
Dallas may be long over, but Victoria Principal still has plenty of drama in her life.
The former primetime soap star filed for divorce from her Beverly Hills plastic surgeon husband of nearly 21 years Tuesday.
According to documents filed in Los Angeles Superior Court earlier this week and obtained by TMZ.com, Principal is seeking dissolution of her longtime marriage to prominent M.D. Harry A. Glassman, citing the catch-all complaint of irreconcilable differences.
"We have no further comment at this time, other than what is in the court file," the 60-year-old actress' publicist, Alan Nierob, told People.
The TV star's petition gives no details on the duo's assets and debts, requesting instead that they be divided according to the couple's prenuptial agreement. She further requests to "terminate the court's jurisdiction" to award spousal support to Glassman, ensuring none of her amassed wealth will be forked over to her soon-to-be ex-hubby.
While Principal filed the paperwork this week, she cited Mar. 25 as the date of the separation.
There's also no word on whether the divorce petition stems at all from a headline-grabbing occurrence of domestic violence that took place between the couple in 2003, resulting in Principal's brief hospitalization and Glassman's arrest.
Principal released a statement at the time apparently debunking the charges, saying, "We have had a loving relationship for over 20 years. We've been and remain happily married. It is outrageous to believe we would inflict injury on one another or harm each other in any way."
That seemed to be enough for the Los Angeles District Attorney, who dropped the charges against Glassman.
"Our office declined to file any charges, and as far as we are concerned, that is the end of the matter," they said at the time.
Principal, who found mega-success after her Dallas stint by hawking The Principal Secret skincare line on QVC, first tied the knot with Glassman on June 22, 1985. The duo has no children.
Her divorce from Glassman marks the second failed marriage for the perpetually youthful actress. She was married to writer-producer Christopher Skinner from 1978-1980. The relationship ended in divorce.
