A Very Brady Split
Growing up Brady apparently didn't do much for Barry Williams' love life.
The former sitcom star, who played Greg in the blended-family series, is in the midst of his second marital breakup after wife Ella Mary Matt Williams filed for divorce on Tuesday.
The couple, married since 1999, formerly separated earlier this month.
Ella Williams requested sole custody of the pair's 2-year-old son and asked that Barry Williams only be permitted to visit with a nanny present.
Since his Brady Bunch days, Williams, 50, has appeared in numerous Brady-themed reunions, including A Very Brady Christmas in 1988 and The Brady Girls Get Married in 1981.
He currently works in musical theater, gives public speaking tours and is the author of Growing Up Brady: I Was a Teenage Greg.
Williams' prior marriage to Diane Martin ended in 1992.
Meanwhile, things are looking brighter for Williams' TV sibling, Christopher Knight, who played middle brother Peter on The Brady Bunch.
The former thesp, who transitioned into the high-tech industry after his years on the sitcom, has reemerged on the pop-culture scene with appearances in a pair of reality shows.
First, Knight tackled Discovery Health Channel's Celebrity Body Challenge, where he toned his physique in the company of fellow has-beens, such as Erik Estrada and Susan Olsen, who played his lisping little sis Cindy on The Brady Bunch.
Once he emerged from the Body Challenge with tauter abs, Knight was ready to tackle the ultimate arena for washed-up celebs--namely, The Surreal Life 4, currently airing on VH1 and featuring other "stars" such as Verne Troyer and Da Brat.
The reality gamble paid off in at least one respect for the 47-year-old, twice-divorced Knight: He started dating castmate and fellow reality vet Adrianne Curry, 22, the winner of season one of America's Next Top Model.
"I hope it's not cheesy," Knight said of his televised courtship in an interview with the Boston Herald. "I'm not pursuing her. I literally give up to her relentless pursuit."
Since appearing on the show, Knight has also been fielding some professional offers and plans to begin shooting an independent film in March.
"It's much better the second time around," Knight told the Herald of his newly rediscovered fame. "In the past, I was probably too young to appreciate it or understand it or feel in control of it. I never felt that when I was in the Industry before, to use a metaphor, [I was] fully baked.
"It took me a long time to figure out who I am and have that confidence. I feel like I'm finally an adult and it's nice now to re-experience this from that perspective."
Sounds like someone finally got that when it's time to change, it's time to rearrange...
