Tyson's Flaming Truck Escape
Maybe Tyson Beckford should stick to the bikes.
The Biker Boyz star and Ralph Lauren poster boy managed to escape a fiery, potentially deadly crash in New Jersey on Monday, police said.
The 34-year-old alum of People's 50 Most Beautiful list apparently lost control of his 2004 Dodge Ram and slammed into a utility pole in Secaucus, near his home base of West New York.
According to local police, the actor-model pulled himself from the cab just before it was engulfed in flames.
He was rushed to Jersey City Medical Center shortly after 5 a.m. and was treated for head trauma and cuts. He was discharged Monday afternoon.
Beckford was not immediately available for comment, but his manager, Bethann Hardison, told the New York Daily News the injuries weren't serious.
After making his modeling debut in a 1993 an ad for Ralph Lauren, Beckford soon graced the pages of some of the world's most prominent fashion and culture magazines, including Paper, Vogue, GQ and Essence. He also appeared music videos for Toni Braxton, Mia X, Notorious B.I.G. and Shaquille O'Neal, and has been trying to break into Hollywood.
Next up is an urban drama called Dream Street, which should be hitting theaters sometime this year.
