So True? So False? Did Justin Bieber Blow Off a Group of Fans at the Airport?!

Some disappointed Beliebers tweeted afterward that the teen had completely ignored them—but that doesn't sound like him! Does it?

Did Justin Bieber engage in some less-than-first-class behavior in France recently?

The 17-year-old heartthrob reportedly snubbed roughly two dozen Beliebers at Nice Côte d'Azur Airport yesterday, blowing right past them, A Hard Day's Night-style, on his way to catch a flight.

Well, there were some disappointed tweets making the rounds, such as, "We were 25/30 fans waiting in 2 lines, Justin didn't say hi and didn't look at us. We were all very disappointed by him."

But there's got to be a reason for the Biebs' mad dash, right? Surely Bieber doesn't just drop the nice-guy act when he thinks people aren't looking (or aren't speaking English). Well, hang onto your boarding pass, because this story is...

So false! (Once you read Bieber's explanation for what went down, at least.)

"Getting up and moving around," he tweeted Tuesday. "Studio tonight. but i want to clear something up that is important to me...the other day in the airport i got surrounded by 20 paps. I dont like small spaces and i just wanted to get on the plane. I ran to...get thru the gate and there is a video of me running by fans and on the other side you dont see the 20 paps. I would never run by my fans...and for those that i did pass that day I AM SORRY. I know my fans are my everything. I know my responsibility to them. I LOVE MY BELIEBERS."

Aw. We can sort of actually feel the love in those tweets!

"So as i get older i know i will learn to deal with these things better and better just still learning," Bieber concluded. "still human. just had to get that out."

Well, some fans may disagree with that mere "human" part, but overall—apology accepted!

Bieber was in the south of France in the first place, meanwhile, for the NRJ Awards at the Palais des Festivals in Cannes, where he and Shakira were given NRJ Awards of Honor.

"I'm just really excited to be here," Bieber told the audience. "I want to thank all my fans for being so amazing. I want to do another French song. I did one French song but I want to do some more French and hopefully perfect. My grandma's first language is French."

"I never thought i would ever get out of stratford and now im celebrating in france," he tweeted. "Never gets old. ALWAYS grateful! #Ilovemyfans."
