Tori Settles Traffic Tiff
Tori Spelling has extricated herself from a real-life Beverly Hills, 90210 drama.
On Monday, Spelling settled a lawsuit with a woman whom the actress allegedly struck with her car in 2002, leaving the victim with a fractured shoulder and other injuries.
Alcira Boone was in the crosswalk of an intersection in Beverly Hills, when Spelling, behind the wheel of a Cadillac Escalade, purportedly made an ill-advised left turn and rammed the unsuspecting pedestrian.
Spelling said she could not see Boone because the sun was in her eyes, but that excuse did not fly with the injured Boone, who sued Spelling for unspecified damages.
Spelling initially filed a counter-complaint against the city of Beverly Hills, but later withdrew it.
Lawyers for the two parties finally hammered out a settlement moments before the court deadline of noon on Monday.
"It was sort of a last-minute, steps-of-the-courtroom settlement, but at the end of the day a fair resolution was reached," Boone's lawyer, Lee Egerman, told CelebrityJustice.com
Terms of the settlement were not released.
Spelling's lawyer said his client was grateful to have the ordeal behind her.
"I believe that [Spelling is] happy that this matter is successfully concluded," Steven Anderson told CelebrityJustice.com
The actress, who portrayed the virginal Donna Martin on Beverly Hills, 90210, tied the knot over the summer with actor-writer Charlie Shanian in an elaborate 400-guest affair at her childhood home.
Several of her fellow 90210 grads dropped by for the wedding, including Jennie Garth, Tiffani Thiessen, Jason Priestly and Ian Ziering.
