TNN Awards Have Faith

Country fans gotta have Faith. Faith Hill, that is.

The Nashville songbird led all comers at the TNN Music City News Country Award nominations Thursday, racking up seven nods.

Her Faith is up for best album (against the likes of Shania Twain, Alan Jackson, George Strait and the Dixie Chicks) and "This Kiss" is contending for best single, video and song. She'll actually be competing against herself and hubby Tim McGraw in the latter category: their duet "Just to Hear You Say That You Love Me" is also nominated for song honors, along with best vocal collaboration.

About the only thing she isn't up for is TNN's top trophy, Entertainer of the Year. However, another country chanteuse, pop-crossover Twain, managed to break the testosterone stranglehold on the category, scoring a nomination along with usual suspects (and past winners) Garth Brooks, Jackson, Neal McCoy and Strait.

Strait and Jackson trailed Hill with five nods each.

The TNN Music City News Awards are part of Nashville's trifecta of honors. Unlike the Academy of Country Music Association Awards and the Country Music Association Awards, which are doled out by Industry types, though, fans pick the TNN winners.

The hardware gets passed out June 14 at the Nashville Arena, with Jeff Foxworthy handling the hosting chores.

Here's the complete rundown of nominees for the 33rd annual TNN Music City News Country Awards.
