This Baby's Got "Soul"
The bun's out of the oven for Soul Food's real-life loves.
Boris Kodjoe and Nicole Ari Parker are celebrating the birth of daughter Sophie Tei-Naaki Lee Kodjoe.
The literally named babe--"Tei-Naaki" is Ghanaian for "first-born daughter"--was born Mar. 5, according to publicist Jessica Cohen, and weighed in at a hearty 8 pounds, 2 ounces; she is indeed the first child for both.
Kodjoe, 31, and Parker, 33, got engaged last summer after spending five years as Damon Carter and Teri Joseph, the sizzling on-again, off-again couple of Showtime's Soul Food.
Kodjoe popped the question while they vacationed in his hometown of Freiburg, Germany.
They plan on swapping vows Stateside this May.
Aside from Sophie, the couple are no strangers to joint productions. They have shared billing in several projects, including Soul Food and 2002's Brown Sugar, and are wrapping production in their first season of the UPN sitcom Second Time Around.
Parker will next be seen alongside Anthony Anderson and Jay Mohr in King's Ransom, a comedy opening Apr. 22.
Kodjoe, meanwhile, is currently shooting a film titled The Gospel, nearing completion in Atlanta.
