As if conflicting information regarding the timeline of Natasha Richardson's ambulance trip to the hospital wasn't enough, now there are more sad circumstances surrounding her death to ponder:
According to an insider at the fancy Quintessence Resort, where Natasha was staying with her two sons, Richardson was given an additional night's stay for free—which turned out to be the day of the tragic accident.
Here's what I'm told went down: A smell in their original suite had been bothering Natasha's party, revealed a source closely connected to the posh inn on Lake Tremblant. As a result...
"They moved Natasha to a different suite," and, as a form of apology, I'm told, gifted Natasha and her party with a gratis night at the famed ski resort.
"Ironically, that was the day she fell," added the Quintessence insider.
When asked to confirm the extra night's stay, a spokesperson for Quintessence said that even though the hotel was "greatly saddened" by Richardson's death, as a policy, they never discuss their "VIP guests or their itineraries."
What a sad, ironic twist to throw into the ever-more-complex circumstances surrounding her death. And look, I'm aware there's a sizeable contingent out there who think: Tash is gone, let the poor lady's family move on in peace, enough with these morbid queries. But obviously, I couldn't disagree more.
As the Times piece points out: Tash wasn't laughing and walking away from the accident, like resort reps originally claimed. According to paramedics first called to the scene, Natasha was sitting down on a stretcher, hardly having a laugh riot.
More not only will be revealed, it needs to be.
