Is Jennifer Lawrence Right for The Hunger Games?

Let the Games continue...
Jennifer Lawrence is thisclose to nabbing the role of The Hunger Games heroine Katniss Everdeen, and we totally have mixed reactions.
As we told you the other week, the Oscar nominee quickly climbed to the top of Lionsgate's list, with the babe having some big supporters high up in the studio.
While we wait for an official announcement whether or not Jennifer is offered the part, let us dissect whether she has what it takes to play the feisty heroine:

Superficially, of course, we have reservations about Lawrence.
Apparently you all do, too, considering she placed fifth in our Hunger Games casting poll—behind Hailee Steinfeld, Pretty Little Liars gal Trojan Bellasario, Chloe Moretz, and "other."
She's just not at all what we, or anyone really, imagined as the underfed, dark-haired, olive-skinned gray eyed Katniss.
Obviously, it's not like J.L. couldn't undergo some big transformations for the flick—just ask Christian Bale.
And true, Jennifer really transformed herself into the role of Ree in Winter's Bone.
We believed everything about her in the film plotline, from her rugged determination to her authentic love for her family. Jennifer displayed a very real performance that most definitely warranted an nom, uglifying herself up that she was almost unrecognizable.
Perhaps we just need a little tease from the studio to convince us why Jennifer deserves to be our Katniss.
After Carey Mulligan beat out all of Hollywood for the role of Daisy Buchanan in The Great Gatsby, Baz Luhrmann gave us a little tease from Carey's screen tests that got us totally pumped.
So when/if J. is offered the role we would totally love a sneak peak showing us why she was so damn fab during her audition.
