Ready for a bad pun? The Help definitely doesn't need any help stirring up award buzz!

Now that that's out of our system, let's get to the good stuff: The flick—starring Emma Stone and Oscar nominee Viola Davis—has racked up some serious noms already at the Golden Globes, SAG awards and a handful of other ritzy shows. But the real place to shine is—duh!—the Oscars.

And one of the movie's stars is (rightfully) rootin' for herself come nomination time:

Let's just say this: If you're not familiar with Octavia Spencer, then prepare to cement the spunky broad in your brain, like, immediately. Heck, she's already been nominated for both a SAG and Golden Globe.

Not too shabby, eh?

So, when we caught up with the broad at last week's Haywire premiere in Hollywood, we had to get the inside scoop and ask the gal about her Oscar picks. Her top choice?

"Viola Davis deserves to be the Best Actress," gushed the proud costar—and close friend—without pausing.

As for her Best Supporting Actress picks?

"Myself, Jessica Chastain or Melissa McCarthy. Or Carey Mulligan," Octavia listed off for us.

Besides the fact that she named, well, everyone, that's quite the bold statement, no? Too often in this town actors will dance around the fact that they're campaigning for Academy recognition. We love that Octavia isn't playing any games and owns the fact that she thinks she deserves a shot at that trophy!

Why not give yourself well-deserved cred, right?! And if Octavia wasn't, Viola certainly would have.

"Are you kidding me? Octavia! Jessica!" Viola cheered at Sunday's Audi and Martin Katz's 2012 Pre-Golden Globes party at Cecconi's in West Hollywood.

We're loving the mutual love! Though the always-humble Ms. Davis also has some more love for…her competition!

"Ya know, I always root for Meryl [Streep]. I just love her," Davis continued about her Best Actress rival. "And one film that I absolutely loved was Pariah by Dee Rees. It's an independent film; I thought it was one of the best of the year."

But back to Ms. Octavia. We were just happy to hear there are no hard feelings over the competition between herself and fellow Best Supporting Actress contender (and The Help costar) Jessica Chastain:

"I'm thrilled that she's getting the recognition, and it's well-deserved," Octavia smiled. "She's worked very hard; I've worked very hard. I only wish they could give an ensemble award because that's the best ensemble I've ever been with."

Trust, we do too, O. But come Oscar night it's every woman for herself. So who do you think will take home the honor? Sound off below!
