Zuma PressIt can be hard out there for an estranged husband.
Terrence Howard has been ordered to shell out $50,000 for his soon-to-be ex-wife's expenses and keep up her car payment until the warring duo meet again in court in April.
Howard's camp had claimed that the Red Tails star was low on cash and that Michelle Ghent Howard's allegations of mistreatment were soiling his reputation—but apparently the judge wasn't too moved.
According to Ghent's attorney, Karen Donahoe, Howard has two houses and an apartment and is maintaining a $76,000-per-month lifestyle after making $2.6 million as an actor.
But Howard's attorney, Christian Markey, countered in court that Ghent has more money than her husband at this point.
"He hasn't had a paycheck, and no job offers," Markey said. "And he only has $20,000 in cash. She's got more money and he's got less money."
The once-happy couple quietly tied the knot in January 2010, but Ghent filed for divorce a year later. She obtained a temporary restraining order against him in December and he fired back that the little missus once yelled at him that she "never wanted to marry a n----r in the first place."
An evidentiary hearing is scheduled for April 23. Until then, Howard is responsible for paying $1,800 a month for Ghent's Range Rover, and he must kick in $20,000 for her attorney fees, $20,000 for accountant fees and $10,000 in spousal support.
Neither camp's attorney would comment outside the courtroom.
