Just when you thought the trainwreck that is Teen Mom 2's Jenelle Evans couldn't possibly get any nastier...

Prosecutors in North Carolina tell E! News that the trouble-magnet MTV reality star could be in trouble after getting caught on tape viciously beating another girl while friends sat around and cheered.

"This matter is under investigation and wre are working closely with the Brunswick County Sheriff's Department," Brunswick County District Attorney John David tells E! News.

As for a report that that the victim isn't going to press charges? David says that won't affect his investigation.

Evans' lawyer tells E! News that they won't be commenting on the clip.

The brutal footage, currently in heavy rotation on TMZ, caught the eye of the D.A.'s office, which is intimately aware of Evans' bad behavior.

While she just narrowly avoided jail on another incident (thanks in part to her and slacker boyfriend Kieffer Delp reconciling and dropping dueling assault allegations), baby Jace's 19-year-old mom is also facing multiple misdemeanor charges on two other cases.

She is due in court for a hearing on April 14 to face drug charges and a count of breaking and entering.

On April 29, she'll be back on additional counts of breaking and entering, injury to real property, trespassing and making harassing phone calls.
